Description:
This seminar will provide an overview of the alternative energy market and its future direction including a look at the electrical infrastructure that will be needed to support the planned alternative energy production growth in the United States. The technological, economic, social, financial, and political forces shaping the future alternative energy market will be covered. This seminar will help the electrical contracting firm understand how the alternative energy market is evolving and where it is heading in the near future. Information provided in this seminar can be used by both inside and utility electrical contractors to formulate strategies to profit from the emerging alternative energy market.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the emerging alternative energy market in the United States and the forces that are shaping this market.
2. Provide a framework that the electrical contracting firm can use to analyze and understand the emerging alternative energy market in its market space.
3. Provide information that the electrical contracting firm can use to develop strategies for profitably participating in the emerging alternative energy market.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Thomas E. Glavinich is the Director of Architectural Engineering & Construction Programs in Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas (KU). At KU, Tom teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in power and illuminations engineering. Tom received his Doctor of Engineering (DE) degree from KU in construction management. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from KU as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of Missouri. Prior to joining KU full time in 1992, Tom worked 16 years in industry and was involved in the planning, design, and construction of commercial, industrial, and utility facilities. Tom is a registered professional engineer in Kansas, Missouri, and California. Tom has completed a number of research projects for ELECTRI International.
