The OSHA Electrical Transmission and Distribution Strategic Safety Partnership was formed with the universal goal "to reduce the number of fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the Industry."  The 10 Partners (6 contractors, NECA, IBEW, Edison Electric Institute and OSHA) have formed Task Teams that analyze safety data back to 2001 to try to determine the root cause of fatalities and injuries.  Another Task Team develops training courses and best practices that will benefit every contractor and employee by creating a safer and more healthful work environment throughout the Industry.  Any NECA Member/employer may participate on the Task Teams.  The results of the efforts of the Task Teams are intended to be useful to every contractor and employee in the Industry.  This program will demonstrate to you the achievements of the Partnership from reducing fatalities to training opportunities to information on the Partnership website, www.powerlinesafety.org.  This program will explain to you how NECA is working to make an entire Industry a safer place in which to do business.
