Description:
There is a constant need for safety training by all contractors for their outside work force. The Electrical Transmission and Distribution (ET&D) Partnership designed an OSHA accredited 10 Hour Line Construction Safety Course for the outside workers. This course is to train trainers (line workers, supervisors, and instructors) who are capable, qualified and certified to train the workforce at the Area-wide Joint Apprenticeship sites or at an individual employer’s location. The course objective is to train trainers to enhance accident prevention, introduce electrical safety and its role in todays outside electrical industry, and to prepare workers to understand how to identify basic concepts and techniques of electrical safety-related work practices for line workers. This course also provides an overview of OSHA construction safety regulations with an emphasis on OSHA regulations for electric generation, transmission, and distribution equipment and systems (1910.269 and 1926 Subpart V). This course is a 2-day course that meets on Friday, October 21 and on Saturday, October 22, 2011, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Lunch is included on both days. FREE access to the NECA Show on Sunday including the Technical workshops and the showstopper showcase.
Class is limited to 15 students.
