Description:
The NECA Corporate Mentoring Program is designed to match leaders of successful NECA member companies with electrical contractors who are relatively new to the business or wanting to move their company to the next level of performance. The workshop will discuss the purposes and procedures of the Program for individual companies and how it may be used by regional and chapter managers as an important service at the local level to add value to NECA membership.
Learning Outcomes: Attendees will learn:
· The mutual benefits to Mentors and Protégés of Program participation.
· Who are likely Mentor and Protégé candidates.
· How the Program works.
· What is required to enroll and participate.
Speaker Bio:
Karl Borgstrom is an organization leadership, planning and training consultant with more than 40 years of senior executive and CEO-level experience in higher education and non-profit management. He has managed a number of design and construction industry organizations since moving to Washington, DC in 1985, including serving as the first executive director of the Construction Management Association, as CEO of the Construction Specifications Institute, and as executive director of NECA-MEI from 2000-2002.
Karl has given numerous seminars and written articles on industry topics, including executive leadership development, construction project delivery methods and information management. He has represented the industry to legislatures and agencies at the federal and state level, and worked to build collaboration among design and construction trade and professional associations.
A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Karl earned his M.Ed. from Boston University and a Ph.D. in Education from U.C. Santa Barbara.
Please note that every state handles licensure and continuing education credits differently. To avoid confusion, NECA strongly recommends you check with your state authority whether they will grant these CEUs for management education programs held at NECA 2011 San Diego.
