NECA Women's Peer Group Meeting and Reception

Session Type: Convention
Location: San Diego Convention Center
Room: 16BA

Date: Monday, October 24, 2011
Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Description:

The NECA Women’s Peer Group will be holding a roundtable discussion at NECA 2011 San Diego on Monday, Oct. 24, 3-4:30 p.m. , SDCC Room #17A. The NWPG Roundtable will be lead by panelists Kristen McDonough, Director, Legislative Affairs, NECA; Rebecca Clark, Government Contracts Specialist, U.S. Dept. of Labor; and Alexandra Harrison, Executive Vice President – Marketing and Strategic Accounts, Ontility.

Kristen McDonough will offer her insight on how NECA women can get involved in legislation action; as the Dept. of Labor’s regional enforcer for government contracts, Becky Clark is an expert in Davis-Bacon contract requirements; and Alex Harrison will tie together the sessions with strategies for becoming an executive manager in a male-dominated industry. Women attending NECA 2011 San Diego are encouraged to offer their perspectives at the session, too.

NWPG’s Roundtable is an opportunity to meet your fellow women working in the industry and discuss the issues and challenges we all face. If you’re a woman involved with the electrical contracting industry, the NWPG Roundtable wants you to join us for this once-a-year event! Following the NWPG Roundtable, NWPG members and Roundtable participants are invited to join the Future Leader's Reception.

The NECA Women's Peer Group (NWPG) was established in 2009 and is currently led by the Women's Peer Group Task Force. Participation in the peer group is open to all women affiliated with NECA member companies, NECA Chapters and National office, and LMCCs.

The NECA Women's Peer Group (NWPG) offers an open forum for women working in all aspects of the electrical construction industry. NWPG members come together to discuss the issues they face in a traditionally male-led industry and to facilitate mentoring relationships between emerging and established industry leaders. Please join the NECA Women’s Peer Group on Facebook or LinkedIn, or stop by the NECA booth on the Show floor and let us know how we can help you be your best in our industry.

NWPG membership is open to all women affiliated with NECA-member companies, chapters and LMCCs. For more information about connecting with the NWPG, to receive updates about future events and activities, or to suggest topics to be covered at the 2012 Summit in Chicago contact Beth Margulies or Adrianne Gracias or post to the NWPG Facebook wall. You can also connect by joining our mailing list here>>
